GRBET Members Skills Matrix

Back to GRBET main page.

The purpose of this page is to help in scheduling pairs of observers. Can you operate the telescope? Can you find a target field quickly (10-15 minutes)? Can you receive GRB alerts from the AAVSO over your cell phone or pager? Can you run the CCD camera software? If you have an optical afterglow candidate, can you do the astrometry on the object?

You don't have to be able to do all or any of these things, but your teammate does, or at least your skills should be complimentary.

Green color indicates that the observer can do it, yellow is so-so, red means the observer cannot yet do it (or hasn't yet done it), and black means the status is not known. Note that being able to do astrometry is not critical until several months to a year into the project. A yellow in the "Registered with AAVSO" means you subscribe to the AAVSO GRB mailing list, but do not have an internet phone or pager registered.
